Dear Diary,
Whelp! It’s been another hectic and happening week as a WXRT intern. On Friday, I drove 2 hours to Aurora, Illinois : “Waynes World! Party time! Excellent!”…In Aurora I worked at the Blues on the Fox festival. Let’s just say that the Dr. was in. Dr. John put on quite a show and rocked the house/field.
After sitting in traffic for a long time, one might be able to imagine I was feeling low energy. However, the people at the festival were so entertaining and the fellow XRT interns and staff made it very easy to rally and have an enjoyable experience.
A fellow by the name of Ross stopped by the tent for his 50th birthday, he was celebrating with a few diet colas and had us sign a banner for him. We hung out for a while, exchanged some laughs and had a grand ole time. I know my posts seem to have the same general theme, but I am constantly reminded during this internship about the great people of the grand city we live in. Everyone came together to rally around the awesome music and the city of Chicago/Aurora.
Also, Aurora is the second largest city in Illinois, in case you were wondering. I’ll report back soon with tales of the Pride Parade. That’s it for now…
